What to consider before you hire a Phoenix flooring company
In the flooring industry we see an increase in flooring projects during the summer months. As the owner of a Phoenix flooring company, here's what homeowners need to consider when hiring a flooring contractor.
Hiring a flooring company doesn't differ much from the things you would consider when making a big purchase:
1. Shop around
2. Check references/reviews
Finding an affordable and experianced flooring contractor in Phoenix
Obtaining a few quotes may sound like a lot of work but you can expect to spend less than 20 minutes with a contractor to obtain a quote (assuming you already know what type of flooring you’re going to with). Most flooring contractors in Phoenix will help you select, and purchase the flooring for your project.
When seeking out an installation company, it is not unusual to receive a high bid as some contractors bank on the fact that you are in a hurry to get the job done. This is the main reason I recommend obtaining two or three bids.
Factors that effect the cost of flooring bids
References & Referrals
Check out what others have said, and have to say about the flooring company.
If you are using internet lead services (such as HomeAdvisor, Thumbtack, Yelp! etc.) you can obtain user reviews and references from these sources. Keep in mind, these lead services are middle men, they don’t have their own contractors; as a result these services will charge the contractor to obtain your contact information. The fees charged to the flooring company is around $30 - $50 on average.
Here's a few basics when researching a flooring company
Hiring an unlicensed contractor is asking for trouble. A poorly installed floor can be aesthetically unpleasing and usually needs repairs or replacement prematurely -- costing you big bucks.

what are the BENEFITS of hardwood flooring anyways?
With such an increase in hardwood floor installation, I have been asked this question often.
Hardwood flooring is a common choice for homeowners looking to give their home a warm and inviting appearance.
Hardwood floors have become so popular that many styles have been manufactured to accommodate a specific homeowner’s tastes. This is the main driving factor for such an increase in hardwood installation.
But, what are some of the other reasons we have seen an increase in hardwood floor installation throughout the country and right here in Phoenix, AZ?
TIMELESS & ESTABLISHED
Hardwood floors are a solid investment. There is no end to the amount of upgrades that you can add to your home to increase the resell value, but not many are better than upgrading your home’s flooring to real hardwood floors.
If installed and maintained properly, your hardwood floors can last upwards of 20 years.
Anytime you can make cleaning easier it’s a huge win. Hardwood floors do just that; a quick sweep or even a moist mop will do the trick.
If you have pets, allergies or kids you may want to consider this type of flooring. Carpet is difficult to keep clean and can trap in all the bad allergens that drive you crazy.
Hardwood floors are in demand. As a result, manufactures are producing many different types of styles. This means that hardwood floors are perfect for any home, no matter the style – there is always a type of hardwood that will look good in your home.
If you change the style of your home’s interior, your hardwood floors can change with it.
That’s right, you’re not suck with the original look. Most hardwood floors have a quarter inch top layer that can be sanded down and stained. Since the top layer is so thick, you can normally do this more than once.
Since hardwood floors are in such demand, they are a nice amenity to accent a home with which will likely improve its selling power.

Ceramic tile is being installed at an increasing rate throughout the new construction of Phoenix homes. It’s also picking up popularity with remodels and renovations.
Using a kiln the tiles are heated to upwards 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit. Throughout this process the tiles begin to get their vibrant colors and design texture. This used to be a process that would take two to three hours; nowadays it takes less than an hour.
This is the process of scanning tiles and eliminating tiles that don’t make the cut. Irregularities such as shape, textures and weak tiles that don’t meet standards are spotted and flagged for disposal.
So, What's New with Ceramic Tile?
What has changed is the design quality. Inkjet printing has allowed for precise high-definition imprints. This is the technology that allows for ceramic tiles to imitate faux stone or wood.
As it relates to shape, one of the newest trends is tiles that have retro designs and bright colors. This style is slowly replacing the old-school rectangular subway style tile.
With the new printing technology, the sky's the limit. Tiles that have pop art or comic strips are just some of the new tiles trending the market.
Here are some fun new trends that we can expect to see more of, thanks to the technology of HD inkjet printing.
