Quality Installation Everytime
Once we have your materials, we’ll move furniture, haul the old carpet away, and install the new carpet. Don’t be fooled by claims of “free carpet installation” that sounds too good to be true. These types of promotions typically involve high markups on the carpeting itself in order to cover hidden installation costs. Gonzalez & Sons will handle the installation at the highest professional level using our advanced tacking techniques. Once the carpet is laid, we replace trim to match the new style, then we perform a final three-point inspection. This inspection includes a walkthrough of all edges and sides, plus a final extraction of loose fibers.
Three Point Inspection
Before we leave your home we complete a full inspection of your newly installed carpet. This is completed by the owner himself or our project manager. Here’s what we review to make sure your carpet is installed to last. Related Article: How to Hire a Tile Contractor
Checking for Wrinkles and Folds: Wrinkles are usually a sign of a subpar carpet installation. The main cause of wrinkles comes down to how well the carpet was stretched. A poorly stretched carpet is normally the result of using a knee kicker instead of a power stretcher when attaching the carpet to the tack strips. Since we always use the correct tools we rarely find any rippled carpet.
Checking the Seams: Inspecting areas where the carpet meets the walls, baseboards, thresholds and doorways. All these seems are inspected to be sure there are no frayed or lose edges showing. A sign of a quality carpet installation is that all edges are properly tucked under walls, floorboards or threshold strips.
Checking Stairs: Stairs need to be inspected thoroughly as they are full of angles and they meet the wall at each step. We look closely at the side along the staircase to be sure it uniform and stuck properly. Since stairs see a high volumes of foot traffic if there is an issue with any of the edges it will lead to premature carpet repairs.
